Looking at the pictures from this week I’m reminding myself of why I started this series again. The point was to focus on looking like the baller that I am. By which I mean, I need to stop making excuses and start putting some effort into my wardrobe. I have clothes (and shoes) galore but when it comes time to get dressed I just…don’t try. I’ve been in a serious funk lately and I think that would be much improved if I knew I looked nice.
So let’s think of this week as a baseline for what happens when I don’t try and consider it a learning experience. They’re not all a total lack of effort, just enough of them that I feel a little disappointed. When they’re good, they’re good, as you will soon see.
Last Monday I wore a belt. This is unheard of in my world. I like to think it looked better in person than it does in the picture but I like to think that in general:
Somehow I don’t have a Tuesday picture. I don’t even remember what I wore. Oh well.
Wednesday I had to quickly snap my outfit picture at the gym. I feel sheisty taking pictures in teh gym locker room because there are mirrors everywhere and I’d hate to catch someone by accident. Fortunately I was almost alone so no one was captured/even noticed me taking this picture.
Thursday I really brought it, outfit-wise. I had to – the shoes demanded it!
I’m still in love with that outfit. Such a winner. The colors just work, and I felt confident wearing those glittery heels to work without looking like I was going to moonlight as an exotic dancer. Unfortunately even when I sagged my pants they weren’t long enough to account for that heel. Sad day. Also sad (ish) is the fact that those are the only pants that fit me right now and they don’t actually fit right.
Friday I kept it comfy:
I didn’t make time to take an outfit picture on Saturday or Sunday. I was too busy making curtains, I guess!
Monday I was wholly unprepared to dress myself. This is a short black skirt, not the long one:
Monday’s outfit looks way better with a cardigan, a tilt, and a novelty filter:
Tuesday’s probably would have been improved by that same filter. Oh well!
Today I feel a lot better about my outfit, despite being exhausted and feeling like I’d sooner stay in PJs all day than do just about anything else.
Also, I usually get dressed with my hair still up, then let it down and straighten it so no, I haven’t been wearing my hair in a bun for a month. It’s finally getting a little longer! I’m looking forward to never cutting it again. By which I mean it’s probably already time for a trim. Bah.
What’s your go-to “I just want to be comfy” outfit? Mine will forever be jeans and white tee.
You are totally right about the pink-grey-sparkly shoes. It all looks amazing together!
I think adding the cardigan on Monday gave you just the right amount of interest to a not necessarily interesting outfit. Very pretty!

Thanks, Ali! I keep that cardigan at my office for just that reason- also cause it’s quite chilly at work some days.
I think I would die in Thursday’s shoes. I’m pretty sure I sprained my ankle looking at them. It’s hard being this clumsy.
