In Case You’re Wondering…
… I don’t have anything to report about my weight loss this week. I basically took last week off unless you want to count the one workout I did while I was away. Come back next week.
… I fell in love with Charlotte during this last visit. I would move there in a heartbeat if I could take all my friends with me. Can we make that happen, please?
… I have to stop feeding myself so much dairy. I love it, so much, but I can’t handle the abuse. I’m not quitting it entirely but I won’t be dumping it in my coffee and I’ll try taking a pill before my next fondue trip (blech, that doesn’t even sound good right now in this heat).
… If you ask me about my books I get really shy. And I usually claim they’re no good because I’m so awkward when it comes to talking about them. But they’re real books and you can buy them and I will finish the series this year so there’s that.
… I made myself do butterfly last week and didn’t hate it. I was exhausted after the lap, but at least I know I can do it.
… I haven’t hated every picture of myself that’s been tagged on Facebook recently. I don’t remember the last time that happened but I could get used to it.
… I know I can’t actually convince everyone to move to one place with me, but I would be happy if we could set up a big old meetup. A few of us ( I remember this girl, this girl, and this girl but if I missed anyone I’m sorry!) talked on Twitter about doing a camping trip and then Katie and I dreamed up the idea of a cruise but I’m thinking it’s time to stop talking/dreaming/joking and start with the planning. Who’s with me?
… Eating Cafe Rio for breakfast may not be the most amazing way to start the day or even the most delicious thing I’ve ever had but it’s pretty damn tasty. It definitely got me out of bed this morning. And on the 25th of this month I won’t have to go all the way to Falls Church to get it anymore because there’s one opening right by my house.
… It’s totally possible to drive from Draper to Dublin to Glasgow to Strasburg to Paris all in one day. And all without leaving the state of Virginia.
… I’ve basically decided what I want to get myself for my birthday – a new Macbook Pro! Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that my current Macbook will hang in there until November. It’s painfully slow, which isn’t the end of the world, and Photoshop crashes almost 90% of the time, which FEELS like the end of the world, but I’ve got my fingers crossed that we can make it another 3.5 months. Part of me is tempted to switch to an iMac because I don’t really NEED a laptop – but I’m not completely sure I want to give up the portability. It’s not like my laptop is going away until it dies for good and it’s not like I couldn’t get an iPad to travel with…so I’m kind of torn. I’m not torn about upgrading Photoshop. That’s definitely happening.
… I really am still working on a blog redesign. But then I see other designers’ work and have to remind myself that a) I am still learning and it’s okay if my stuff isn’t as spectacular and b) I cannot actually have everything at the same time. See also how my photoshop keeps crashing. I’m trying to code as much as I can but I’m still a visual person and want to see how it looks before I put myself through the torture of coding it.
… This whole post almost literally explains why my blog could be titled #WhiteGirlProblems or at least #FirstWorldProblems and no one would ever question it.
… If you have other questions you’d like to ask me (even anonymously) you can do that here. I forgot I had a formspring account until just recently but I’m going to start answering questions again if you want to ask them.
What’s on your mind today?
My name is Kate. I'm a makeup and coffee addict (and total Jesus freak) fighting to lose over 100 pounds. But there's more to life than losing weight. This is where I try to balance it all - and hilarity ensues.

I have so many comments to this post.
- There is going to be a blog designer network conference sometime in the next year.. that is where we need to meet up!! I will for-sure be there.
- You have 26 days to come visit Dominica before I leave.
- Have you thought about setting up a test-site so you can try out the coding before going live? I’d be happy to give you advice on how to do it.
- So excited that you are getting a macbook pro!!
- I’ll trade you some #firstworldproblems for some #thirdworldproblems any day.

Oh my gosh, I would love to come and visit Dominica before you leave. It would be magical and I have been missing the beach like crazy. If only I had the vacation days to be able to do it!! Boo. But I will definitely keep a lookout for information about the BDN conference, that would be perfect!
I do have a test site set up so I can get the hard stuff done (hopefully) before I go live and that’s where I’m doing my build right now. I may ask you to visit and test it out for me before I do launch officially. It’s probably going to be a while before I get to that point though, I just have not been making the time to work on it lately.
I’m still debating iMac vs. Macbook Pro – but a new computer is a new computer and a girl can only go so wrong when it comes to Mac, right? I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that I can chug along with my current macbook pro until November. I’m probably going to jinx myself by speaking up but I worked in Photoshop for a few hours yesterday with no problems so that was really good!
