Do you ever have the kind of week where you reach the end and feel like you deserve a prize for getting there? That describes this week perfectly.
I know you’re tired of hearing me whine about my computer and I promise this is the last time. We had another unfortunate incident this week when a certain puppy pounced on the keyboard:

Fortunately I have a wireless keyboard so this was not actually a huge deal. Just add it to the list of annoying things that have happened to this laptop. The good news is that next week I can buy my new computer and then you will not hear about my computer drama anymore. I am SO excited I cannot wait.
As far as Mocha is concerned…could you stay mad at this face?

Nope, not so much.
I’d show you a picture of Latte lately but he’s kind of a princess these days:
Anyway, I’m happy it’s Friday and I hope you are too. I present you with this delightful Madonna and Scissor Sisters mashup to entertain you through the rest of this post. Feel free to vogue as you read, I will be.
On Song Meanings
Do you ever have those moments when for whatever reason you figure out the real meaning behind a song? Whether it’s listening to the artist explain what they meant or if the lyrics suddenly just gel in your mind and you realize, “oh my gosh, that’s not what I thought this song was about at all?” That happened to me yesterday with the song “Somewhere Out There” by Our Lady Peace. I used to think it was this sweet love song and then it hit me – this song is about heroin.
After reading the lyrics again I’ve decided it’s a love song about someone on heroin. But I sure did hop over to good old Song Meanings to peruse the ever-flawless commentary and was not disappointed. The second comment takes the cake and I recommend a dramatic reading.
On Vlogging
I’ve already devoted a whole post to this, but if you’re not planning to join in the “Whats on my Feet” vlog link up you really, really should.
On Facebook
My blog page has 98 likes on Facebook and has been hovering in that range for a while. If it’s not too much to ask, might we bump that up to 100? Just hop on over and hit the “like” button. I do post stuff over there that doesn’t also come here so that’s kind of fun, right?
On Texting and Driving
I am not a huge texting while driving person – I am usually fumbling with my phone because I can’t find a song I like which I admit is equally dangerous since it’s a distraction. But they’ve put up a sign on my daily commute about texting and driving and my first thought when I saw it was “I need to tweet this.” I haven’t, but I really wish I could get a picture. While driving. PSA fail.
On Summer
Last night I had one of those awesome totally rocking out to a song in the car with the windows down moments. It made me realize that it doesn’t feel like summer to me because I haven’t done anything summer-y. I need a beach and I need it immediately.
I hope you have an awesome weekend! Any fun plans?

My name is Kate. I'm a makeup and coffee addict (and total Jesus freak) fighting to lose over 100 pounds. But there's more to life than losing weight. This is where I try to balance it all - and hilarity ensues.
