I don’t really remember when I stopped loving summer and started adoring Fall, but at some point it happened because this year I’ve found myself anticipating the season like I never have before. I was excited last year, but this year it’s more intense.
It’s funny, despite the heat and cry of cicadas, this year I never felt like I really had summer. And I am the type who normally feels cold-blooded and is happy to soak up the punishing heat and humidity. I love the sticky, languid summer days here when the air is so thick it hurts to breathe. But the magic of summer never came for me this year and I think I’ve mourned it the whole time. And now that fall is just steps away I feel like I’m waking up.
I’m hopeful that fall will be a bright spot before I’m trapped in the depression of winter. I’m trying not to rush the season and sprint headlong into the pumpkin-humping and sweater wearing though I so desperately want to.
October means the start of a 31-day Photo Challenge. I tried this last year and didn’t make it through all the prompts but I’m going to try again this year:

So I’m definitely looking forward to the challenge and excited to see what comes out of it!
I’ve also decided I’ll be running away to New York this fall and maybe never coming back. It’s one of the best times to be in the city, Christmas being the absolute best, and I’m daydreaming about the adventures I’ll have while I’m there.

If Charlotte outgrows this size before fall, I will cry. It’s going to be 72 on Saturday and I’m so excited because clearly that must mean fall is coming.
