This morning I almost cheated.
I went to Starbucks with every intention of sitting in the drive thru. My car was warm, I was sleepy. I briefly considered the fact that I have been through the drive thru 3 times since I said I wouldn’t anymore and basically wrote it off. It’s easy enough to blog something and then never follow up, right? Meh.
That was until I pulled up to the Starbucks and saw the longest line I’ve seen there in a while. Maybe ever.
I generally don’t like to accuse God of testing me but it kind of felt like the universe was looking at me and saying, “exactly how committed to being lazy are you?” And I mean, I like to honor my commitments and all but being late to work because I’m lazy seems like the wrong kind of dedication.
So I got out of the car. I picked up a green juice so I could cram some extra veggies in my day. I was feeling awfully smug about making the right choice by not going through the drive thru after I promised myself I would give it up. And then wouldn’t you know it – they got my order wrong.
I got the right drink, but they made me a veggie breakfast sandwich. Which when you take into consideration it’s smothered with cheese on white bread might as well not count as having veggies at all because there are like 2 little pieces of peppers. But I ate it and it might have been good if it hadn’t had so much cheese on it.
I guess the point is just that I’m going to have to start being late to work so I can stay home and make myself breakfast.

My name is Kate. I'm a makeup and coffee addict (and total Jesus freak) fighting to lose over 100 pounds. But there's more to life than losing weight. This is where I try to balance it all - and hilarity ensues.

I love that veggie breakfast sandwich (there is never too much cheese on anything). I eat that before every race because I know it won’t upset my stomach. I’ve started limiting myself to only doing Starbucks before a race since I know I’ll burn it off that way. It’s working so far and really helping the old wallet as well.

Wow… I’m impressed with myself if I can feed my cats before I stumble out the door (20 mins after I wake up) let alone make myself breakfast. Good job on getting out of the car, and I can not blame you at all for eating that sandwich.
