I don’t like to complain – okay, just kidding. I enjoy the kind of complaining we like to call “venting” (because somehow that makes it better?) just like everyone does and just like everyone else I like to tell myself I don’t do it too often. But I also try to keep it positive because those are the kinds of people I want to be surrounded by and that only works if you’re going to contribute to that kind of attitude, right?
Just like most people, I’m still learning and sometimes I fall short. Like when I was looking at the weather and knew today was going to be another bleary winter day. But I decided to cheer myself up with some bright nail colors this week.

Sunday I found myself re-organizing my closets. It started with my collection of jewelry. My necklaces are hanging up but everything else was living here:
I couldn’t even open those little drawers because they were crammed full – and mostly full of things I haven’t worn in ages. Even my dogs were judging me.
So I went through and cleaned out those boxes and my little drawers. I’ve got a nice little collection of stuff to give away now and everything I kept fits neatly in the two bottom drawers of the jewelry box. The top drawer I saved for my manicure tools.
Then I moved on to my closet. I’ve been avoiding my closet since we moved in because I hung up my clothes, set up my shoe racks, and then shoved my craft supplies and miscellaneous other things into the left over space and called it functional. It worked but definitely not well and it didn’t stay clean which means it needed more work.
I found these boxes at Target and then emptied all the boxes I already had so I could redistribute the contents in a way that made more sense.
One word of advice – keep your head down while you’re working. Don’t take breaks, and definitely don’t stand up to look at your “progress” or you might just have a panic attack.
Dramatics aside, this sight was a bit of a shock when I got up halfway through. Still, it all came together nicely and now I’ll be able to get to the things I need without having to dig through overpacked, painfully heavy bins to reach them.
Naturally after sorting through my supplies I remembered all the projects I started but never finished so now I’m in the mood to finish those up. Good thing we always have another weekend coming!
Also I’d like to point out that Mocha chose to put himself in the shower while I worked. That’s what I get for leaving the shower door open, I suppose. Or do we think he was asking for a bath?
My plan for this week is to tackle my to-do list so I have next weekend free to work on some of those projects I uncovered this weekend. Here’s hoping it’s a good week!
{I always link up to Molly’s blog because I just copy and paste the button from my last post but definitely go check out Carly too because her blog is amazing as well!}
Found you on Funday Monday. 🙂 I am totally loving your manicure and I think I might have to copy you in the near future!
Good job on all the organizing… personally, I hate the whole process but always feel better once I’ve weeded through my belongings. I totally get what you mean about finding unfinished projects then feeling motivated to finish them- I’m the exact same way!!
xo Always, Abby
