May I tell you how excited I am? So excited. Today I’m sharing my first Dia+Co unboxing video and verdicts with you all!
For years I’ve watched other bloggers get boxes from another styling service and been soooooo jealous because they don’t carry my size. Womp-womp. But just this month I found out about Dia+Co and was so excited! Dia+Co has been around for a few years too but somehow I missed hearing about them. I think styling services are AWESOME because there are times it’s just not fun to shop for clothes.
So what is it? Dia+Co is a styling service that specializes in plus size fashion. You fill out a survey with your sizes, likes, style preferences and needs, pay a $20 styling fee and they send you a box of 5 items that they think you will like. If you like your items, you can purchase them to keep. The $20 fee counts as a credit toward your purchase. If you don’t like what you’ve gotten or it doesn’t fit you send it back in the pre-paid envelope. You’re also able to switch items out for different sizes and choose between an automatic monthly shipment or just order when you’re in the market for new clothes (win!).
Here’s my very first Dia+Co unboxing video where you can see my reaction to each item right as it comes out of the box:
And now, onto my decisions:
Ivana Faux Leather Insert Dress – Eloquii: $89.00
If you saw my reaction in the video, I LOVED this dress. It’s totally my style with the gold accenting at the waist. At $90 it’s even a great price for a high-quality dress that has a lot of potential for use.
BUT – I don’t have any events coming up that would require a dress like this and all the dresses I have are currently collecting dust in my closet (or waiting to be sold since I don’t wear dresses enough) so I can’t justify buying a new one.
That said, I would have been WAY more torn about this decision if the dress fit. It was just a bit too snug to feel confident wearing it out of the house. I’ve spared you the side view and these are some low quality pictures so it’s not immediately obvious but trust me when I say this hugged all the wrong curves instead of flattering the right ones.
Verdict: RETURN
Birdie Lace Top – Curve by Dora Landa: $59.00
This top is so my style. The fabric was super soft and the lace detailing in the back means it’s more than a t-shirt without being a dressy top. I would have been able to wear this a lot of places but…it was too short in the front and $60 for what is still basically a t-shirt is just too much for me.
Verdict: RETURN
Margie Necklace: $30.00
I love the look of this delicate gold necklace and it’s definitely a good basic piece but it was my mistake to let them send me jewelry. I just have too much already and plenty of necklaces that are similar.
Verdict: RETURN
Broadway Belted Tunic – Eloquii: $62.90
This top had a lot of potential – love the color and the fact that it was designed to accent the waist. That said, it just didn’t feel right on me. I felt like I was fighting to keep the belt in place and the arms ended right at my elbow joint so they were just strangely
Verdict: RETURN
Medium Wash Skinny Jean – Fashion to Figure: $38.90
I have to say I’m not a fan of the 90’s revival that’s happening right now in fashion. Give me a dark wash denim every time. But hey, I wanted to be open minded so I reached for these first and…couldn’t get them past my calves. Womp womp. Jeans are tough and these had about zero stretch to them. The price was right so this was a bummer.
Verdict: RETURN
So that was my first Dia+Co unboxing experience. I was a little bummed that I didn’t find anything worth keeping but you have to start somewhere. The good news is I felt like these were almost all items I might have tried on if I’d come across them in a store so I feel confident that I’ll get pieces I love in the future!
If you’re interested in trying Dia+Co, you can use my referral link and I will get a $20 credit (one month’s fee).
Have you ever used Dia+Co or a similar styling service?
That blue top is the perfect color on you! So sorry none of these pieces worked, but I know from experience that subscription boxes get better as you review and return. Good luck!
